Tad Douce
Executive Director
Tad Douce started in STEM education in 1996 as a pre-engineering educator in Ohio. After 15 years in this role, he left the classroom to work in professional development and educational leadership at the TRECA Information Technology Center. During this time, he traveled throughout the U.S., providing technology and STEM learning for thousands of adult educators through face-to-face workshops and online formats. He has led numerous STEM initiatives for students, including the National Robotics Challenge, Ohio State Fair 4-H Robotics Competitions, The Otterbein Drones Camp, and the Oak Ridge Robotics Academy, in association with Oak Ridge National Lab in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Tad holds advanced degrees in Instructional Design and maintains both classroom educator and school administrator licenses. Tad has written six project books for 4-H in the area of robotics and numerous online engineering tutorials. He was awarded the Professor George Schneider, Jr. Manufacturing Technology Education Faculty Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers -Education Foundation in 2011 and the prestigious “Building the Future” award in 2008.
